I meant to write this 2 weeks ago !

This post was supposed to be done before the Steam Next Fest but uhhhh. oops!

Rivals of Aether II (Formerly known as Rivals 2)

Rivals 2 (or I guess Rivals of Aether II now) had a free demo during the Steam Next Fest. Unfortunately I ran into some computer problems that made the game unplayable for the first half of it, which really sucked because there was a cool tournament being held during it and I had to sit out ;-;

Now that the game has fully launched (and I got my game working), I've been having a lot of fun playing it. I genuinely believe it is the single best platform fighter you can play from a competetive standpoint. Casually I can see why people think the game may be lacking, but it breaks my heart to see people dismiss a game purely because of things like "small roster size". Casual players really don't understand that bigger rosters don't equate to more variety most of the time :/ like come on, are you really going to tell me that the 100+ roster of Smash ACTUALLY has 100 distinct play styles and character ideas in it? The sheer variety in Rival's 10 base characters is already immense, not to mention the viability spread among them much, much tighter. Sorry I just really hate consumers culture :')

btw the thing that made my game freeze for upwards of 6 seconds at a time was my external hard drive maxing out to 100% randomly. I don't know why it did this, I don't even have the game installed on it ;-;

Super Sami Roll 2

There's a sequel!! It's peak!!

My favourite speedrun game's sequel got a free demo during the Next Fest which include the first five levels of the game. The game is really pretty, and the new mechanics are really fun. I spent a good amount of time speedrunning the ILs, even having 4 of the world record times for a moment, which was pretty cool. My gf hates me tho and pushed the 1-1 world record so I couldn't have it ;-; and since then other players have started running the levels and kicked out all my times, but that's part of the fun of it ^-^

Very excited for the game, I plan on backing the Kickstarter campaign day one when it drops. If I wrote this blog when I was supposed to I'd probably have a lot more to say but it's been a while since I played so I can't exactly remember everything I would have said o~o

Today's music!

I think my most listened to song as of recent would be FUTURE PEOPLE by peak divide, made for the UNBEATABLE sound track!

It's a very powerful song to me, it captures a set of emotions I don't know how to express in words. It's like, convincing yourself that you've given up on some far-fetched dream you know will never come true, but choosing to still hold on to it regardless? Maybe it resonates with me as a way of coping. Either way I absolutely love the song, along with the rest of the OST, peak divide absolutely killed it ^^

It is a bit odd how I haven't written anything about rhythm games considering how much I like them. UNBEATABLE is one of my most anticipated games. The demo [white label] is free! go play it!

Life stuff ~

Had a very mixed fortnight, largely the reason I didn't end up finishing this post until now :/ I couldn't really put into words why I was feeling bad other than "delayed seasonal depression" or "I really wanted to play rivals" ;-;

On the brighter side, I got to play Guilty Gear Exceed!! I also managed to convince people to play BattleCON, which is my favourite board game ever, so that's neat! Also gotten more cards for my Pokemon deck, which was fun.

Trying to convince myself to apply for a casual job until I can figure out what I'm doing with my life, we getting there.

<3

Just a quick thanks to everyone who reads my posts or visits my site. I know the point of it all isn't to watch the number get bigger, but it does make me happy that people are seeing what I have to say :> Thinking of finally adding some personal project ideas/drafts to the site soon, tho my record for actually doing that isn't too great lol

Once again, if you read this ily <3 i hope your day is good byeeeee !!
